The May Store Sale provides buyers with the first opportunity of the year to purchase Store horses. It’s a sale that’s eagerly anticipated by point-to-point handlers, and many of Ireland’s leading handlers begin restocking at the May Store Sale. Among the top lots to sell in 2023 was a half-sister to Arkle Chase winner Simonsig, and a half-sister to Grade 1 winning novice chaser Sporting John.

The 2023 edition of the sale saw a big increase in UK buyer participation, with three of the top five lots going for export. Graduates from this sale to have made their mark in graded company include Grade 1 winner Jango Baie, Grade 2 winner Slade Steel, and Cheltenham Festival winner Telmesomethinggirl.
