Japan won the Group 2 King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot on Friday in good style for his owners Mrs John Magnier, Michael Tabor & Derrick Smith, trainer A P O’Brien and jockey Ryan Moore. Japan has options for either the Grand Prix de Paris (at Paris Longchamp on July 14) or come back (to Ascot) for the King George (July 27). Japan was purchased by M V Magnier/Mayfair/Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock at Tattersalls October Yearling Sales Book 1, 2017 for 1,300,000Gns from Newsells Park Stud.
