Moriarty won the Eagle Farm Cup Group 2 race at Eagle Farm on Saturday to take his earnings over the Aus $ one million mark having won a number of Group races after Peter & Ross Doyle Bloodstock Ltd purchased Moriarty at Tattersalls October Yearling Sales in 2009 for 52,000gns, he was then sold to Australia. His trainer Chris Waller plans to run Moriarty in the Group 2 Brisbane Cup at Eagle Farm this weekend where Moriarty will have the opportunity to become the first back-to-back winner of the Brisbane Cup since Fair Patton took out both the 1964 and 1965 editions of the race.
