The Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale is firmly established as a leading sale of it’s type. The 2024 edition produced turnover exceeding €9.5 million, a 12% increase from 2023. A new record average price was set of €43,634, while the sale produced a 90% clearance rate, up from 83% in 2023. The final sale figures demonstrate the Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale to be the strongest performing European-based Breeze Up Sale in 2024.
The 2024 figures saw activity in the six-figure bracket increase to 21, while six lots were sold for at least €200,000. The expanding international racing programme resulted in purchasers from 18 different countries including Ireland, the USA, Scandinavia, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Hong Kong, the UK, Poland, Germany, and Italy.
On the racecourse the sale has proven itself as a reliable source for stakes class performers, with Coto De Caza winning for a third time in the Group 3 Cornwallis Stakes and shaping like a sprinter of real promise. Other graduates of note include Group 3 Anglesey Stakes winner Kairyu, Group 1 Irish Oaks third Purple Lily, and Group 3 Round Tower Stakes winner Letsbefrankaboutit. Tattersalls Ireland Breeze Up Sale graduates have also been winning valuable prizes in Hong Kong, with Happy Together and Taj Dragon landing Grade 3 prizes at Sha Tin earlier this year.

The September Yearling Sale produced 130 winners in 2023, more two-year-old winners than any other European sale. Graduates from 2023 include the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes winner Cool Hoof Luke, and Group 3 Prestige Stakes winner Anshoda.
All yearlings sold in 2024 are now eligible for the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes held at the 2025 Irish Champions Festival. The sale has produced over 70 two-year-old winners across several countries in 2024, including Ireland, the UK, Italy, Czech Republic, Denmark and Spain.
The Top Lot at €180,000 in 2024 was a son of Mehmas who was one of ten purchases for Rabbah Bloodstock. A son of Sea The Stars was the second top priced horse of the sale, while Marco Bozzi Bloodstock were the leading purchaser numerically having sourced 19 lots.
The vendor of the winning horse in the €250,000 Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sale Stakes will receive an Overlander R240 horsebox for one year.

The six-day sale of National Hunt-bred foals, yearlings and broodmares offers pinhookers a late opportunity to fill orders for their store offering. The sale offers stock from Ireland’s top National Hunt breeders, and is well established as a leading sale of its type.
Over 93% of the 2024 catalogue comprised of foals, with total spend reaching almost €7.5 million. The foal section returned an average just short of €16,500, with the two top priced foals making €110,000 with both sold for racing careers in France. The mares section produced the top priced lot of the overall sale, with the Listed winner and Grade 2 placed Instit purchased for €125,000.
Constitution Hill and Ballyburn are the November National Hunt Sale flag bearers. Constitution Hill remains unbeaten over hurdles, and in 2023 became the third-highest-rated two-mile-hurdler ever in the Anglo-Irish Jumps Classifications. Ballyburn was sold at the 2018 November National Hunt Sale and is now the fourth highest rated hurdler in Ireland after a superb novice campaign that included three Grade 1 victories. He remains a hugely exciting horse heading into his second season hurdling.
