Viren’s Army swooped late to win the Dee Stakes, Listed Derby Trial at Chester for owners Middleham Park Racing, trainer Richard Hannon and jockey Silvestre De Sousa. Viren’s Army may now head for the Tercentary Stakes at Royal Ascot. Peter and Ross Doyle Bloodstock bought Viren’s Army at Tattersalls (Irl) September Yearling Sale for €115,000 from the Castlebridge Consignment.
